Collaboration with universities advances Index validation

Validating constructs against longitudinal outcomes

Academic partners have joined a multi-country validation effort to test Child Visibility Index constructs against longitudinal child welfare outcomes and administrative records. The collaboration strengthens the evidence base behind dimension scores and weighting choices.

University teams will examine whether visibility gaps identified by the Index align with later patterns of family support, out-of-home care entries, and service re-entry. Methods combine aggregate Index packs with carefully governed access to anonymised longitudinal datasets.

Interim findings will feed methodology updates and help partners interpret scores with clearer confidence intervals and caveats for policy use.
